Welcome to Week Two of the House Beautiful One Room Challenge.
Full disclosure…this week has been a slow one. I’ve been wrangling subs (read finding subs) and waiting for deliveries so no work has been done. One of the deliveries I’m waiting on is Legrand plugs and switches for the space. I thought I’d take this slow down to show you how I’m going to be using their products to make this space a smart room and in some instance eliminate the need for an actual plug.
One of the things I hate about old school plugs is that they are mainly white or cream and have limited options. Legrand has so many gorgeous options. They have colors, deluxe options, metal, a collaboration with Hubbardton Forge lighting and my personal favorite is the custom plates that are paintable AND can be printed with your wallpaper pattern so it a seamless look. Below is a small selection of what the offer.
Check out what they have to offer here
The Meat of it all
So because there are so many actual options I was able to customize each outlet and wall plate. Let me show you what I’ve planned
And now the Lights
So I have some awesome outlets, dimmers and switch but what am I using them with?
Dun, dun, dun… enter Lamps Plus. If you don’t know I recently attended Design Bloggers Conference on a Lamps Plus scholarship. While there I had the opportunity to tour their LA store. But honestly I’ve known about Lamps Plus for years. They have an impressive outlet in Redlands, CA which is the town I used to live in. I’ve purchased so much awesome lighting, furniture and accessories from there. They were my go to for purchasing lamp shades and bulbs for my staging lamps.
I was super excited that they agreed to sponsor my overhead lighting. They have tons of amazing options. TONS!!
Earlier this year I participated in a challenge that won me a $200 credit to The Design Network. I used it that credit to purchase my pendants. I’ve been lusting after those pendants for so long and so I’m definitely excited to use them in my room.

I created a rendering of what the room will look like. A sneak peek if you please.
